awoken by thirst under cold stars and looming moon
toward the summit, nearing the limits of breathable air
surrounded by the swell of stone giant structures, cathedral mass
lured by slivers of dancing firelight
now cutting through the black like a beacon from beyond
(drawn) drawn to this aperture by lucid force (force unknown)
and suddenly swallowed whole by a cavernous mouth with teeth of stone
moving shapes, ghostly light, pools of liquid fire
atmospheric tremors, phosphorescence refracted and scattered
moving shapes, ghostly light, pools of liquid fire
now a specter of wonder defying logic the sum of my fears
washed over by a wave of demonstrative gloom
tender associations tempered with aesthetic wonder [cutting through the black like a beacon from beyond] four walls erected in the cold black vacuity
could this, could this be my final resting place

(keep) the age old tradition instill the faith, cauterize to all the well bred bastard sons of man the servile practitioners get on your knees and face the crucifix for you were born in sin this is the body and blood of christ it shall be given unto you now steady those hands and swallow steady those hands obedience aids the digestion of a force fed ideology the confluence of indulgences all embedded with a silver lining plentifully abound, eagerly awaiting upon a solid foundation which seems structurally sound blind faith built on sand, sinking slowly with a cross of gold strung around your neck and rosary beads poised between finger tips clutching to the notion that your god hears your prayers and that you, a privileged moderate believer could bend and shape the scripture to suit your fucking selfish lifestyle i'll save a seat for you in hell

about

Release #2: An untitled split 7" EP with The Armed, pressed to vinyl by No Rest Until Ruin in late 2013. Originally we were chatting with a European label about the possibility of releasing a 6-song EP but it never materialized so we decided to pluck Dim Rivers and Dragging Stones from the batch to contribute to a split effort with our friends from Michigan. Those other four songs would eventually find their way to vinyl the following year, by way of Formless/Shapeless on Dropping Bombs.

"Life without context, assertion without consequence"

about

Tharsis They Michigan

"If you like metal-infused post-hardcore like Converge, Botch and Trap Them, boy oh boy, are you gonna love Tharsis They. Somehow these guys manage to both out-hardcore and out-metal all of the aforementioned bands to concoct a sonic stew of thrashy, gnarly, gut-punching brutality." - Metalsucks.net ... more
